I took my kids to see Santa yesterday and caught my three year old having a quick peek at the big man himself.

A bit of an unusual wedding last Saturday onboard the HMS Caroline. It is now a training vessel for the Royal Navy but at one time it served in the First World War. There are a lot of nice images from the day but I am aware that these guys want a bit of privacy so I have only posted these pics.

 

A touch of nostalgia

I came across this shot by famous photographer and former president of Magnum, Elliott Erwitt. It was taken in 1955 in California and I just couldn't help but think how many times this has been repeated since either knowingly or not. His site is well worth a browse if you have a moment. Oh and as for the second pic- that's one of his too - not mine :-)

 

 

An email from out of the blue.

Dear Alasdair

My friend showed me your website.  I looked at your photos and was truly amazed.  You have an incredible gift and have captured some very precious images that your customers will treasure forever.  They are priceless.  I have never been so compelled to write to someone before.  I just thought I would let you know my thoughts!!

Sadly your photos have made me realize that I will never be a professional photographer and I will content myself taking pics of my kids and family!! 

PS I just wish I was getting married again just to get you to take photos for me.

PPS If you ever need an assistant, I would be only too happy to learn from you.

Hello Alisdair, 

We just got back from honeymoon in S. Africa at the end of last week. Thankfully no hallucinations on the malaria tablets and no kidnappings, so that was a bonus. 

Russ and I had a look through the photos and we both absolutely love them. I have a couple of favourites – the one of me in the dress on the seat in the Redcastle is stunning, I also love the photo of Alyssa (the little red haired girl) in the hall drinking a cup of tea – the cup’s so big it covers her face! All the scooter pics have come out really nicely too. Really, there are too many good ones to mention. 

Overall, we felt you were great to work with – really relaxed and I think that contributed hugely to the running of our day. I really want to say a sincere thanks.
